2023 The Year of Change and Growth

I can’t believe that we are already in 2024. Last year seemed to fly by to where I wish time could stop. Over the past year, I have made so many different connections and changes within the organization. One of the biggest changes was completing my board. I am still in awe at how many people are in support of my mission and how many strong individuals there are who match my passion for system reform.

Another change was my brand. I created my logo in 2022 and within the past few months, I connected with Martin from Marketing Success 4 U who I met through Ally G and her non-profit. I chose the color blue since it represents foster children everywhere. I like how he designed the logo and how strong it comes off.

In terms of connections, Ally G who founded Ally G’s Everyday Angels has become such an inspiration to me and I am so thankful to have met her. She is a lovely individual and gives back to the community in so many ways. She is truly an inspiration. She hosts a bingo event every year and I had the greatest time that once tickets go on sale for 2024 I am buying a table for me and my board. Check out her website and work here.

I, also, connected with a girl I went to high school with. Her name is Victoria. She owns a small business called Everlasting Stitch. She has become our merchandise creator for shirts and sweatshirts. She does amazing jobs and creates beautiful products that hold memories from loved ones. Check out her website and work here.

The last connection I made is with the Department of Children and Families. I am meeting with the Youth Advisory Board in January to discuss the resources that are available to foster youth but also, working with DCF with transitional youth to help them transition into adulthood.

Lastly, I met an amazing woman named Holley who is now on my board. She was a foster youth and is now a foster parent. She invited me to join her for a Holiday Toy and Shoe Drive in which we wrapped 63 presents to give to foster children for Christmas. I am so glad to have met her. Her passion is like mine and I feel like we are soul sisters in a way. I’m glad she was able to join my board.

I’m looking forward to what this year will bring with our interns and events that are coming up. I am so thankful for everyone’s support.
